His vision gained concrete shape in 1996 the form of the Graphic Era Institute of Technology (GEIT). In 2008, it was accorded the status of Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGCAct, 1956 vide Notification F.9-48/2007-U.3 (A) dated 14 August 2008 and approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

The Combustion Institute – Indian Section (CIIS) is affiliated to its parent international body at Pittsburgh, USA. The Combustion Institute – Indian Section (CIIS) is a professional registered body. It commenced activities way back in 1974 through a National Symposium in Combustion at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
The same has been continued in the form of a biennial National Conference wherein the engineers and the scientists engaged in the research work in the domain of IC Engines and Combustion are provided a network platform for sharing their research contributions. The 27th National Conference on Internal Combustion Engine and Combustion (NCICEC) was held at Vellore Institute of Technology from December 11 to 13, 2021. This conference has now evolved into the International Conference on IC Engine, Propulsion, and Combustion 1.0 (ICICEPC 1.0).
The ICICEPC 1.0 is jointly organized by Graphic Era Deemed to be University and Graphic Era Hill University, under the aegis of The Combustion Institute – Indian Section, which oversees the technical and organizational aspects of this and other technical events in the country.
